Reconfiguring of a Semi-Detached House: Etruria Villas, Sturton Street, Cambridge

The design includes a one and two storey extension to the side of the existing house, to accommodate additional living and sleeping spaces, as well as car and cycle parking. The design creates a contemporary addition which addresses the technical issues of building adjacent to and beneath the canopies of mature lime trees.

Rooflights capture sunlight and daylight throughout the day and year, with windows to the street, garden and views through the trees to the adjacent park. At the same time, the existing house has been comprehensively refurbished. The garden by Sylvia Newman Garden Design skilfully integrates the park, garden and house.
